G2 Materials produces high-quality foil shielding tapes both with and without a self-adhering adhesive for use in virtually every electrical application.

Foils.

  • Aluminum provides a light weight and inexpensive shielding option for cable EMI/RFI shielding.

  • Copper foil is an excellent shielding material though it is more expensive and heavier than aluminum. Copper is often used where the terminations require soldering, or if the cable is subjected to harsh environments where corrosion resistance is a concern.

Films.

  • Polyester films provide a temperature resistant construction which enables these tapes to be used directly beneath the extruded jacket. Polyester films provide greater insulation and dielectric strength than other poly films.

  • Polypropylene films provide a high yield and easily conformable tape, but are not as resistant to heat.

  • Higher temperature resistant substrates such as Kapton® and Nomex® are available for especially challenging environments.
